The 7th annual bake-o9ff at the Porches and Pies festival drew 35 entries from home bakers and pastry chefs across metro Atlanta. Contestants were evaluated for excellence in crust, fillings, overall creativity and overall taste. The competition was open to both sweet and savory entries, and any interpretation of "pie," including tarts, slab pies, quiche, hand pies, and more. Judges included Additionally, one baker was honored with the People's Choice award, which is awarded to the baker receiving the most votes from festival attendees. Ansley Stewart is a Soul Americana artist based in Atlanta, GA. She embraces her southern roots by bringing storytelling to her sound, creating music that is heartfelt and nostalgic. She has become a fixture in the local music scene over the past 7 years and is currently working on her second studio album to be released summer of 2022. Grammy award winning tenor saxophonist Kebbi Williams is one of contemporary music’s whirlwind improvisers. The imaginative multi-instrumentalist/ composer/producer/arranger/teacher resists categorization. His innovative sound dives, blends and jumpstarts all music genres. Kebbi bends it to his will with his robust, distinct blasts. His playing and compositions create a sound that is uniquely and undeniably his own. Avant-garde jazz, hip-hop, Afro-beat, gospel, electronica, classical and fiery rock are all loops that Kebbi interweaves with passion and edge. Presented by MET Atlanta, Porches and Pies fest returns to Adair Park 1 on Sat., Sept. 24 from 12-5 p.m. The event is free to attend. In addition to live performances, attendees can enjoy sampling pies from the bake-off featuring sweet and savory pies from Atlanta home bakers and pastry chefs, a kids zone, artist market, beer garden and more. Adair Park Today being named to the 2022 Nextdoor 100 list, which celebrates 100 amazing neighbors across the country. The entire neighborhood was nominated for its rich diversity and connection, as well as the programs that keep neighbors safe, healthy, and thriving.

Adair Park Today, organizers of the annual Porches and Pies festival, has opened the call for bakers to compete in the 2022 bake-off. The bake-off is open to pastry chefs and home cooks presenting sweet and savory pies. Presented by MET Atlanta, the festival is planned for Saturday, September 24 from 12 to 5 p.m.
